(1) Château
Beau-Site
-St-Estèphe, Bordeaux, France
-Vintage 2003 (HOLD)
-L.C.B.O. PRICE: $39.95
-8.5/10
COMMENT:
Very tight at present (in other words, the nose is not showing much at
the moment); not much fruit, but developing very nicely; this is quite
a tannic wine that ought to reward at least eight years of cellar
aging. The wines from this estate have long been known for good
consistency and reasonable value.
PAIRING SUGGESTION: Prime rib with roast-herbed potatoes, along with a little hot mustard on the side --- enjoy!
(2) Maison J. Faiveley
-Nuits-St-Georges, Burgundy, France
-Vintage 2003 (DRINK NOW OR HOLD)
-L.C.B.O. PRICE: $49.95
-8.5/10
COMMENT: In terms of price and overall quality, this is an
excellent-value Pinot Noir from one of the most respected houses in
Burgundy. Shows light vanilla, red licorice, and dark berries; delicate
mouthfeel, with an extended finish.
PAIRING SUGGESTION: Coq au Vin --- enjoy!
